Rating: 3.5/5 stars

Educationist cum Author Shubira Prasad's latest work 'The Demons of Jaitraya' is a retelling of the epic Ramayana. It takes us on an exciting journey in the land of Gods, humans and demons. It is the first book of the trilogy of the war between humans and demons. The novel is based on a popular story which talks about some of the demon's escape from the epic battle of Ramayana between Lord Ram and Ravana. In the 20th century or the Kali Yug, those demon's have reappeared in the form of wars and illnesses to destroy mankind. To protect the mankind, Lord Ram has instructed Hanuman to prepare a team of warriors who will fight with these evil forces. Aishani and Adheesh are two such warriors who has been choosen to fight the evil.

Will the warriors be able to save the mankind from these demons?

What will happen when the evil forces will spread the claws of death on the innocent humans?

To get the answers you have to go through this exciting tale.

The first thing that I liked about the plot is the choice of subject. The author has brilliantly weaved the story with the mastery of her writing style and narration. The author has successfully created an air of suspense throughout the narrative. The execution of the story is brilliantly done.Everything from the choice of words and expressions to presentation of the events has been done with ulmost care and precision. If you likes to read mythological thrillers, then you should definitely give it a try.

Overall, it was fascinating experience. I give this novel 3.5 stars for the choice of subject, narration and overall presentation.

Happy Reading
