How to overcome Bookstagram Anxiety: Tips and Techniques

Before we delve deep into the topic allow me to explain what I mean by "Bookstagram Anxiety"?
It is basically a form of anxiety that you feel whenever you come across other bookstagrammer's page and start judging your abilities on their scale.

I was reading an article on Ruskin Bond about something he has said recently. According to him, the quality of writing is decreasing constantly because of the huge number of Avarage authors in India.I am sorry to say but the same thing applies on Bookstagrammers too.
In this short span of time I have met a lot of
bookstagrammer who lacks quality and their main objective is to earn money. I don't know whether you are aware of it or not, but many people are taking advantage of this and earning a lot of money (3 to 4k) by dealing with the authors to provide a huge number of bookstagrammers who will review their books for 20 to 30 rupees.

My sole purpose of writing this post is to share with you what I have gone through and how I have overcome it to a great extent.

Yes! I was suffering from this Bookstagram anxiety too.At first everything was going smoothly but as new followers starts joining me, my expectations rises. And then the problem starts. This new Animesh is always angry, always checking the notifications like a thirsty crow. Everytime someone unfollows him, he gets visibly angry and wants to say a few harsh words to that person. Then its starts affecting my health. It becomes tough for me to sleep. Even late at night I used to think about new books, giveaways and more followers. Everytime I used to come across a big bookstagram account a strange feeling of sadness devoured me.
Questions started popping up into my brain, Questions such as  "Maybe I am not that good"., "I follow every other bookstagrammer, why don't they follow me back?....I was really sad and depressed.

And I don't accuse anyone for this...It is quite natural for anyone to get addicted.

Now coming to the story of my recovery-
1.The first thing I started doing is Meditation...Believe me guys, it really helps to get rid of those toxic thoughts. Your mind is a garden and meditation helps you to clean it.

2. Then I present a set of questions before my inner self. The questions are-
Why am I doing book-reviews? Is it because I want to get more followers and popularity or Is it because book reviews makes me happy? If your answer is the second one, then my dear friend, dont get angry on anyone. It is just a medium for you to relax, it is not your full time profession...So don't take stress...

3. Most of us are students, and believe it or not, when you gets addicted it hampers your creative thinking and studies. Study is the most important thing right now.It is something which will provide you financial security later in life. The whole life is before you guys!!! You will get much time to become famous..Thats why don't take book reviews too seriously. I think you are aware of the fact that recently Tictok was banned by the Govt. Suppose if one day govt decides to ban Instagram, where will you go?

4.Please spend time with your friends and family members. Interaction with "Real People" (not the virtual one) is equally important.

5. and Lastly, Be happy....
