Book Review: The Last Love Letter by Kulpreet Yadav

Title- The Last Love letter
Author- Kulpreet Yadav
Publisher- Rupa Publications
Genre- Fiction/Romance
Format-Paperback
Length-242 pages
Year- 2019
Rating- 4.5/5 stars

The Last Love Letter by Kulpreet Yadav explores the myriad facets of love and shows how love can act as a healer in one's life. It is a story weaved with ulmost care and attention. The story begins with a letter by Nisha who is suffering from Cancer and has a very little time left. But before leaving the earth she is pouring down her heart in the words of the letter for Akash and their daughter Sara. As if she has immortalized herself in the words of the letter. Now with the death of Nisha, Akash has no meaning in his life and he is totally devastated.

On the other hand there is another woman, A painter named Subah for whom the meaning of love is completely different. For her, love means deceit and it the instrument of exploitation. Though Subah loved her boyfriend with all her heart, she in turn recieved only humiliation and deceit, which developed in her an intense hate for men and for the emotion called love.

But little did she know that her life will change forever. As They grew closer, in the sad and gloomy sky of Akash's heart, Subha brings a new morning, a morning of love, of a new beginning. But Can Akash be in love with two women at the same time?

The beauty of the work lies in the way the author has played with the different shades of love.Rather then penning down the age-old ideas of love he has tried to explore it in the modern context. Kulpreet Yadav has excellent narrative skills which is pretty much evident in the work.

The title of the book is apt and it perfectly portrays the theme of the novel. The cover photograph by Yamini Chowdhury and the Cover design by Amrita Chakravorty is excellent.

Overall, it was a very entertaining read. I am really delighted to explore the myriad facets of love through this work.

I highly recommend this book to everyone.Happy Reading
