Publisher: Fingerprint Publishing
Rating: 5/5 stars
'Vishwadarshan' contains the insights of Mahatma Ramratna Thapaliyal ji on human life and universe, genesis of life and death, the true meaning of life and the supreme goal of human beings on earth, knowledge he received in his 17th year long sadhana in the Himalayas. Such was the impact of this work that upon its release the British govt. put him in jail because British scientists found it hard to accept the fact that the questions on which they had worked for ages, a simple Indian sage has revealed that truth to the world. The work is exceptional as in the vast areas it covers from the tiny living organisms to the working of the cosmos, history, art, science, literature, spirituality and ultimately meaning of human existence.
Divided into 23 chapters, the work provides insights on the creation of the universe through Purusha and Prakriti, absolute supreme conscious, supreme pure merit, the creation and forms of nature, the supreme nature of air, water, space, fire and earth, creation of som and vegetation, creation and destruction of gross body, insights on art, science, ethics and religion and finally his thoughts on living beings and their welfare
Being a scholar of Education, I got an opportunity to go through the indian philosophy and in this particular work I have observed a reflection of the Sankhya philosophy. I am very happy to go through this work as it has enriched my ideas on various topics related to metaphysics, epistemology and axiology. As far as the translation is concerned, Rupa Srikumar and A.K Srikumar have done a commendable job in preserving the essence of this work.
Overall, it was a great reading experience. I give it 5 stars for the content, translation and overall presentation.
Happy Reading
