There is not denying the fact that 'Hanuman Chalisa' holds the position of the most powerful and popular hymns of India. This beautiful collection of 40 verses written by poet-saint Tulsidas in the soul-satisfying language of Awadhi in his work 'Ramcharitmanas' in 16ty century still holds an important place in the history of Indian tradition and culture. This is  one of those rare texts that have made its place into the daily lifestyle of the hindu devotees and there is hardly a day passes when you won't hear the recitation of hanuman chalisa in the households or in the locality. The reason behind its massive popularity lies kn the fact that apart from being a religious text, Hanuman chalisa has given the general public a protector, who will protect them from every evil, a role model whom one can follow and a text which teaches the art of living.

But though most of the hindu devotees have either heard of the chalisa or know the verses by heart, but unfortunately not all of us can decode the multiple layers meaning it holds inside the verses. We need a guide who can guide us through the verses of the text and help us fully understand the text and apply it in our daily lives.

Famous Author, Guru and TEDX speaker Subha Vilas has provided us that guidance to understand this sacred text from today's prespective to internalize its teachings in the most beautiful way possible. By taking suitable examples from Valmiki's Ramayana to Tulsidas' Ramacharitmanas to the pupular folklores of India, Subha Vilas has helped us understand the inner meanings of the text. 

The thing I loved about the book is the fact that the author has given us a detailed verse by verse explanation in a compact manner. The book contains the original sanskrit text, followed my its translation in english and a detail explanation of the lines. I must confess I have also learned a few things by the work. 

Overall, it was truly an eye-opening experience. I highly recommend everyone to go through this work , gift this book to your family members or loved ones to help them discover their own life and shape their character. I give this work full 5 stars.
