Introduction and Background-

Author Sarvananda Chandrashekaraiah's debut work "A Silent Takeover" is a gripping tale of suspense, murder and revenge. The story unveils at the fictional city of Muthodlur, the film city of India, where superstar Raaj Kumar Muthodi is celebrating his 50th birthday with his family. As he appears before the fans and the media to celebrate, media personals attack him with some personal questions, which results in an altercation between them. Disgusted by the attitude of the media towards his personal life and career, he decides to go on a vacation to Chikkamagaluru. Suhaasini, an intern at the tabloid "Muthodlur Blitz ' gets the task of conducting an interview with the superstar. As she uncovers his past, some very mysterious points grabs her attention. All those girls who had a relationship with the Superstar have either end up dead or lost their mental sanity.

As the story unfolds further, many astonishing revelations occur, making it more difficult for Suhaasini to continue her search for the truth.

Will she be able to unearth the reason behind such tragic incidents?
What will happen if the poeple associated with the mystery decides to harm Suhaasini? Will she be able to protect hersellf from the impending death?
These are some of the questions you have to solve while going through the work.

Review-

Plot- As far as the plot is concerned it is quite impressive I must say. Though there are no complexity in the plot and it is pretty simple, but it certainly contains the element of suspense in it. The plot is engaging and successfully creates an air of mystery throughout. The climax was quite unexpected for me and I like the fact that the author has tried to attempt something unique.

Writing Style- Now if I talk about the writing style, it is quite good for a debut author. The choice of words are simple and anyone with the basic knowledge of english can read and enjoy it.

Narration- The narration is good but I was expecting a bit more experiment on the part of the author. The story is important but how you are presenting it also makes a huge difference.  Sometimes good stories fail to create the expected impact on the readers due to the employment of wrong narrative styles. I think a bit more work is needed on the narration part.

Character Construction- Well, the character construction is quite good. I liked the character construction of Suhaasini, Superstar Raaj and Inspector Ramachandra very much.As a debut work the author has done an impressive job.

I also loved the way the author has presented the inner conflicts of the characters. I enjoyed going through the work and unearth the mystery with Suhaasini. As far as the title is concerned, it is apt and the cover image perfectly portrays the theme of the work.Overall, it was a good read.

I give this work 4 stars and recommend this book to the thriller lovers.

Happy Reading
