Title- The Indic Quotient
Author- Kaninika Mishra

Author Kaninika Mishra's second non-fictional work celebrates the idea of "back to the roots". It tells us the stories of those brave souls who dared to think out of the box. But unlike other entrepreneurs who searchs for groundbreaking ideas in examples around the world, the heroes of our book took refuge in the ocean of varied Indian tradition and culture. They explored the cultural richness and ancient knowledge of Indian texts to come up with that one unique idea that changes their lives forever.

In this work you will find the true stories of those entrepreneurs who decided to explore their native culture. From Yoga to Ayurveda, handloom to Organic and Herbal products, these people have shown us one don't need big business plans or a huge amount of capital to begin their journey, if you have the passion inside you and faith in your abilities, none can stop of from reaching to the acme of success. Whether it is Ranjit Singh, Mohan Upadhyaya, Manish Pole or Prakash Sah who decided to explore the vast knowledge of Yoga or Dr. Pratap Chauhan who applied the knowledge of Ayurveda for his business, each one of them invested their time and effort to grow in their respective fields. Successful startups like Go Crop or Nirog Street provides us the courage to begin our individual journey towards success. I find this book extremely important in today's time.

A few days back The MHRD released the National Education Policy 2020, where a great amount of focus has been given to vocational education. Govt. has decided to empower the learners with the knowledge of various skills. Various predictions done on the global market says there will be a massive economic blunder, many people will loose their jobs..In these pathetic times, the book provides some very interesting and low-cost alternatives which anyone can use to build their startups. Most of the entrepreneurs in this book comes from humble backgrounds. Some decided to change their profession for the dire need of money, others did it out of their sheer love for creativity, but all of them with their hardwork and determination achieved success. This non-fiction work will help you to get an inside view of their mind and the strategies they applied to become successful.

As far as the writing style and the narration is concerned, it is absolutely fantastic. The narrative creates an unique effect as if I am watching a documentary in my mind's eye. It is undoubtedly a well-researched book and the way the author has combined the information about the current developments in the various fields along with the historical background of the product and the states where it originated, provides an amazing reading experience. The book contains excerpts of interviews of entrepreneurs conducted by the author in various parts of india. Only if you go through the work you will understand what an amazingly well-written book it is.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. This is something you should read during lockdown. I give this book 4.5 stars for the content, narration, writing style and lastly for the huge possibilities it contains in it.

Happy Reading
