- Sonu Nigam (at 21st Anniversary of "Aap Ki Adalat")

India, a land where Bollywood is next to religion and actors are next to Gods, cinema is not merely a form of entertainment, rather it's a gateway for the lion's share of Indians to escape from the harsh realities of life, a medium to get a few moments of happiness where they learns to dream and to take risks. In those two and half hours spent inside the theatre, that man who otherwise lives a life of utter ridicule and shame, places himself in the position of the hero and feels powerful. Yes! this is cinema for us, it runs through our veins!

Khantastic by Sanjukta Nandy presents a panoramic view of the lives of the three cornerstones of Bollywood and tells us how they become the "Khan Trio" as we know them now.The book focuses on the major events of their lives starting from the birth, adolescence, struggling period, their success and the way they managed to maintained their stardom over the years. This book will actually show you the struggles behind their success.

I particularly liked the way author Sanjukta has beautifully handpicked the events and arranged them through the magic of her excellent writing style and narration in such a way which provides almost a cinematic experience. Through the beauty of her writing, rather than being overshadowed by the stature of these three trio of bollywood, she has emerged as a powerful orator who is in control of the whole process.

The beautiful cover art by Sourish Mitra as well as the Art direction by Mugdha Sadhwani could not have been better.Overall it was an amazing experience going through the book.

I give this book 4.5 stars because it has really touched my heart.

Read it...the book is really "Khantastic".
