Through his parodical work 'Embers' author Deepak Kaul has presented the classic story in a completely modern settting. Set in Ramgarh, the story takes its inspiration from the famous fictional story of the movie Sholey, and showed us what would have happened if these people were in the 21st century. The Daku has become a cyber criminal and their method of extorting money has also changed. Nowadays, they don't steal money directly, but through various unethical indirect ways.
I particularly loved the way the author has retold this story in a modern setup. Though the story shares the same genesis but through his writing style the author has presented various issues of the current society. The work actually says to the readers, "There are Gabbars in every age, in every society, point them out and win over them through your hard work and intelligence".
Overall it was a pretty amazing, funny read. Though I was expecting a bit more from the book. Even after finishing the work I have a unsatisfied longing to read more.
I have enjoyed reading it..I give this book 4 stars and recommend this book to film lovers and anyone who loves to read parodies.
